Pedro Camanho, researcher and vice president of INEGI, and president of the Associated Laboratory for Energy, Transport and Aeronautics (LAETA), was elected
fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, a professional and multidisciplinary British institution dedicated to the global aerospace community.
The title of fellow corresponds to the highest degree awarded by the institution and aims to
highlight professionals with notable contributions to the advancement of aeronautics.
In this area, Pedro Camanho has stood out for the
study and development of advanced composite materials, contributing to the creation of new high-performance and low-weight structures that meet the severe requirements of mechanical resistance.
This distinction joins the many others that Pedro Camanho already has, among them, the
Scientific Excellence Award from the University of Porto that he received earlier this year.
Founded in 1866, the Royal Aeronautical Society is the oldest aeronautical society in the world. It aims to promote the highest professional standards, provide a unique source of specialized information and be a forum for the exchange of ideas.
