E-learning: INEGI participates in the training of managers and entrepreneurs for industry 4.0

The "Technology Fundamentals of the 4th Industrial Revolution" program was launched to enable managers and entrepreneurs to prepare companies for the challenges of industry 4.0 (i4.0). Developed by COTEC Portugal and INESC TEC, the course counts with participation of INEGI, namely on content focused on new materials, advanced manufacturing technologies, additive manufacturing and digitalization of the manufacturing process.

Industry 4.0 is driven by innovative technologies that are transforming companies, having had a huge impact not only on production systems, but also on business models. However, in Portugal, this transition is hampered by the fact that i4.0 concepts are still uncommon knowledge in many companies. To close this knowledge gap, COTEC Portugal organizes this course within the scope of the Portugal i4.0 Platform.
At a time when more than 40% of portuguese people are teleworking (Marktest data), the concept of e-learning presents itself as an effective alternative for acquiring knowledge and skills. This program is made up of 20 video modules available online, guided by specialists in the field, which address different themes of Industry 4.0. With a duration of 6 hours, the course focuses on practical examples of the application of i4.0 technologies, and each module ends with a knowledge test and a summary of the contents presented.
"Many of the managers and entrepreneurs who are working from home have in this course an excellent way to acquire more knowledge. The adoption of 4.0 technologies and the innovation in products and processes will undoubtedly be essential to face the coming times" says Ana Maria Sousa, responsible for the Advanced Training area at INEGI. "Present and future challenges are increasingly complex, and the search for solutions requires multidisciplinary knowledge. This is precisely what this course offers".
Throughout modules XVII to XX, led by INEGI specialists, participants will learn about different concepts and technologies that drive new opportunities for creating value in these areas.
