INEGI joins innovation network to promote digitization of industry in Northern Portugal

INEGI has joined the iMan Norte Hub, as a Competence Center, the newly created Digital Innovation Network whose mission is to foster the digital transformation of industrial companies in the Northern region of Portugal and to stimulate the respective innovation ecosystem.

The initiatives main objective is to combine the existence of scientific and technological skills and infrastructures in the region, aiming to contribute to making the industry more focused on the customer, with a more differentiated, more sustainable offer and with an even greater impact on the economy and the employment in the region.

The iMan Norte Hub will operate mainly in the most significant industrial sectors in the North, such as the metalworking, textile, footwear, automobile, agrifood, and forestry sectors.

The network intends, on the one hand, to support companies in identifying opportunities, defining implementation plans and ing suppliers, and, on the other, to foster collaboration between those involved in the ecosystem, such as technological centers, industrial associations and government agencies.

The adhesion of INEGI, a Technological Interface Center (CIT) based in Porto, results from the relevant role it assumes in this innovation ecosystem, having competences and vast experience in key areas of the scope of the iMan Norte Hub.

This Network, coordinated by PRODUTECH - Production Technologies Pole, appears in the context of the European Commissions action plan for the digitization of European industry and the strategy for the creation of a single digital market, which includes the creation of these Digital Innovation Hubs.
