Promoting commercial activity in the Turkish market, where INEGI has been for ten years, was one of the main goals that motivated the participation of INEGI in ICCI 2018 - International Energy Environment Fair & Conference, the most important event focused on energy in Turkey.

INEGIs director for wind energy area, José Carlos Matos, points out that INEGI has a branch in Turkey since 2012, that’s why we have the interest to raise awareness of our offer in the areas of wind energy and solar energy in an event of this dimension”.

In the field of wind energy, Turkey is a country with a huge and growing market, which reinforces its position as a strategic agent for INEGI. “In 2017, there were three wind power auctions in Turkey that should be operational in the coming years. The Turkish state has set a target to reach 20 gigawatts (GW) of wind capacity by 2023”, says José Carlos Matos.

During the ICCI 2018, which took place from 2nd to 4th of May, in Istanbul, Turkey, it was discussed a general view of the energy sector both in Turkey and internationally. Topics were focused on the liberalization and restructuring of energy supply, forecasts of supply and demand, European Union energy policy but also on technical issues such as high-efficiency power generation, the operation of power plants, renewable energy, waste management, recycling systems and environmental technology will be discussed.
